#tbt

I think that may be the first time I ever used a hashtag.

I've probably posted this before, but every time I come across this video it makes me smile and laugh and cringe all at the same time.

Oh goodness, 15 year-old me and fluffy two-year old Panic. Adorable.

This is the video I made for Panic when he was technically our foster dog for MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue. Panic was our foster for about four months before we officially adopted him. I always knew he was "mine", but we really had to work hard to integrate him and Toby.

Time is a funny thing. This was seriously six years ago?!

I didn't know you were involved with Mid-America BC rescue! The rescue group I work with (Great lakes BC rescue) has a lot of overlapping intake territory, so we work together quite a bit.

You and Panic were adorable. I'm sure you still are ;-)

Aww thanks. :)
Yes, we fostered for them for awhile. Then, as often happens in rescue, a lot of ridiculous drama was churned up while we were fostering Panic so we decided not to stay involved with them. I would love to foster more in the future.

Ah, yes, pretty much every rescue has gone through at least one ridiculous drama phase. It's not a pretty thing. Fostering has been really good for me, though, working with so many different dogs with different issues (all BC's though, I don't even pretend to know how the all-breed rescue groups manage).

Yes, drama happens everywhere that's for sure, but this drama happened to be centered around the fact that I named this dog "Panic"...seriously. The phrase "ruining the breed" was uttered....seriously. Panic was actually the 40th dog we ever fostered, before we had worked with Golden Retriever Rescue. Like you said it was definitely a wonderful experience to work with so many dogs!
