Sep. 17th, 2008 12:53 pmClass last week went really well. Panic was very overstimulated, but not to the point that it was concerning to me. He still had some ability to think and listened pretty well. He gets very excited watching other dogs run and, in the past, has tried to go after a few. This week I saw his focus shift. He still gets excited, but seems to be channeling that excitement towards agility itself rather than the dogs running it. Once he was running a course his attention was on me (or tunnels....whichever is closer! :P) Fine by me! I'm allowing him to get excited as long as (a.) he doesn't vocalize (especially whining. I can't stand whining!) (b.) he does pace and (c.) he doesn't lunge. In a trial situation I will definitely calm him down more before a run, but its interesting to see how he behaves when he's overstimulated like that in a controlled class environment.
Do to this crazy wind storm I haven't had school for three days! Hell yeah! I've been doing a whole lot of...nothing. And its great.
I did film Panic's weave poles and some other training stuff, but I can't put the videos on the computer yet. I can only transfer video from my camera onto my dad's computer (he has a firewire connecty thing) and he doesn't have power, and probably won't for a week or two. Bummer.
