Agility class tonight.

Since we're only a few inches from full height on our board at home, I thought I'd try Panic on the real dogwalk tonight before class. Luckily the course set up was dogwalk-tunnel, so he had a target to run to. I set him up at the top of the dogwalk in the exact same way I do on the board at home, then told him GO! Well wow he ran the board perfectly right into the tunnel! After back chaining a little I let him run the whole dogwalk and he strode right on down the board like a pro! MAN it was freakin' AWESOME. Maybe I got a little overzealous but I also let him run it as well as the A-frame in the course we had set up that night. I didn't even put him on the A-frame by itself before hand, just told him to GO! and he did it PERFECTLY. What a rush!

There were a couple of instances on the dogwalk (mostly when I tried to do a soft turn to a tire after, running the course backward) where he did what I would consider a jump. BUT even so, he was well into the contact every single time. This week now that we're pretty much full height on the board, I'm going to work on turning with him. I'm just so blown away by how quickly and how well he generalized this. And he really seemed to enjoy not having to stop, of course. Man he was FLYING down those contacts. At first my plan was to keep a 2o/2o with him (which I also did a little at class tonight) but I figure, why not just go all the way with it? When/if we finally come together as I team, I think we'll definitely be a force to be reckoned with...
