aardogs: (panicjump)
AHA! Here's that crazy trial I knew we were due for! :P Yes Panic was very crazy, but none of his runs were completely off the wall. And honestly many of his mistakes were totally mine (stupid handler!). We had some very nice moments and a hell of a lot of fun. We came home with an Open FAST Q and an Open Standard Q (which is the only thing I was really hoping for). Best of all, he was really moving! The clay surface there seems like it would be terrible; it's really bumpy and weird, but no dogs had any trouble and Panic really really likes it. He was a very good boy!

Panic definitely has some sitting issues...in two runs he absolutely would NOT sit on the startline (so I put him in a down) and we had some real issues with him sitting on the table in Sunday's Standard. Maybe I'm being too nice about it...sort of asking him to sit instead of *telling* him.

We just had a lot of fun at this trial. The whole Halloween atmosphere was a blast; the judges dressed up, and a ton of people and their dogs got really into it for the Halloween contest. Panic had a blast running around for hours after the show with our caravan of 10 border collies and an Aussie. In general we're both just enjoying the entire experience of showing and hanging out with some great agility people. I've been doing agility for a very long time but I am just now starting to feel like I am a part of the agility community.

Panic and I are progressing pretty well in my very loose and not thought out plan of qualifying for 2011 Nationals. Speaking of which, now it's almost go time! Our year to qualify starts in a month.
