aardogs: (panicjump)
Went out to the site at 8:30 to walk quarterfinals, stayed and watched that and some of the lure coursing and dock diving which was really really fun to watch, then came home for a few hours. I've tried lure coursing a few times but dock diving I've never seen in person, it was really cool! A few pictures of the action:

It was great that in between "waves" (which is the competitions) you could sign up to practice and let your dog try it out as many times as you wanted. Very fun.

My mom and I headed back out there around 3 with Panic and Toby and decided to try out the dock diving. I thought both of them would really enjoy it (Panic has done "dock diving" off an actual dock on a lake in Michigan and Toby is just water crazy!) but what do I know, neither one of them would do it! Panic REALLY REALLY wanted to, but just ended up standing on the edge barking his head off until he just turned around, went down the steps and jumped up on the exit ramp to go get it. On his third try, he was barking his head off in such a frenzy that he actually slipped and fell into the pool! Haha, it was just hilarious. Maybe we'll try again, I think he could really enjoy it once he gets the idea.

At 5:30, NINE HOURS after I walked it, we finally got to run Steeplechase Quarterfinals. I never even got a course map otherwise I would post it. Anyway, it was a fun course with quite a few traps. I was incredibly nervous about it, but Panic absolutely rocked that course! We ran it clean and fast and it was just so much fun. I honestly can't believe it, such a surprise that Panic is doing so well at our first Nationals! Can't wait for tomorrow, our group actually runs Semifinals in the morning!
