Mega Crafting Christmas
Dec. 13th, 2011 12:00 pmEvery holiday season I usually go into crochet and knitting mode, and this year is no exception. In fact, I'm taking my holiday crafting to pretty extreme levels this year. So far I've made several hats (a few not pictured) and a pair of mittens, and many, many, many, granny squares.

I don't really know why I got started on making them, but then I figured it would be a good way to get rid of all the little bits of excess yarn I have laying around. And then I decided that I should make an ENTIRE afghan. Before Christmas. To give to someone.

So far I have about 35 squares. I calculated that I would need at least 80 to make a decent sized blanket. Nearly halfway done, alright! I'm pretty certain I'm over my head with this project, but I WILL get it done! Otherwise, what the heck am I going to do with all these squares??
To give myself a break from crocheting yesterday I made some bracelets:

I bet you can't guess what those beads are made of? Okay I won't make you guess. They are made from plastic bags, like the kind you would get bread or bagels or tortillas in. It was quite the process and I think they turned out pretty snazzy. Plus the bracelets are SUPER light. I should have documented the entire process of making them--if I make more I will.
There are quite a few more things I need to make before Christmas, so the mega crafting with continue.
