It was good for me to have a summer off of trialling. Last spring and summer was a little bit crazy, with tryouts, regionals, and a long trip to Perry, and a couple of local shows. It was fun, but there is no way I could keep that pace up again. So while the summer wasn't the best I've ever had, I mostly enjoyed the fact that I stayed at home/went on some non-dog trips. And since Qing for AKC nationals would be impossible for me with the new requirements and I'm still trying to sort out how I feel about doing USDAA anymore, not trialling was a good decision.
Not to mention--holy crap--I can't believe how much money I was able to save this summer. I mean wow agility is expensive. But we all know that.
I actually did do a lot of agility training this summer. Panic is running very well at 20" although I just can't seem to get everywhere I need to on course anymore! ;) I guess I will just have to get faster. Here's a video from the DCAA trial back in June that I never got around to putting up. Good run aside from a weird moment at the teeter. I like how he looks at 20" even on the terrible terrible turf at this trial site. I'm definitely late with a lot of my cues since I'm used to having a bit more time.
