I've been watching this show Portlandia lately. It is really funny and makes me want to visit Portland (even more than I already want to). I do wonder how accurately (in an exaggerated way) it represents the city or if it's actually really offensive to people in Portland (or if any of you guys have ever even seen it?). Anyway it makes me laugh.

My laptop broke which is sad. Hopefully I can get a new one soon. Too bad I like Macs so much, it'll be awhile until I can afford a new one!

I got some cool rainboots recently.

I tried on some vibrams the other day and I really liked them but just can't get over how weird they are. I'm sticking to my Zems.

I'm excited about this.

While I don't live IN Portland, I think this show is hilariously spot on!

I just watched this one, cracked me up.

I've been feeling like that too. I actually have a lot to write about the shelter but don't know if I should or where to start so I don't.

I want to see The Hobbit too. Do you know when it comes out?

I LOVE Portlandia! I totally agree with ML, it's pretty spot on in a slightly exaggerated way. Porland is a really cool city, not too big but with cool stuff going on. You should come and visit!

At its core LJ really is just a journal, so I'm going to stop trying to only post things when I feel like I have something "interesting" to say (which is rare anyway ;)

I don't think the Hobbit comes out unti next winter :(

I always thought Portland looked so cool, and so weird. I think I would fit in perfectly. Hopefully one day I will be able to visit!

I quit trying to be entertaining in my journal and write it for me. That's what I started it for and that's what I want to do. I do enjoy going back through and reading old entries.

Portlandia is about right. Portland is weird like that... in a slightly exaggerated way:)

I love Macs too and it sucks they have to cost so much more than the "other" computers!

Portland is FUN and different and people who live here LOVE their city. Is it like Portlandia? Not exactly, the show is very exaggerated but sometimes entertaining. I like watching it because I know many of the people in the show and visit many of the places they film. Portland is a city for the young, the artist, the weird, the beer drinker, caffeine lover, and the sun deprived. A lot of kook can come from that.

I think Carrie and Fred make fun of Portland, but it is with love. I think some of it is funny and some of it not so much. Portland is much more awesome than can be shown in the show;) You should come visit, I do think you would like it. You always have a base to work out of if you do decide to make the trek.

If Portland was actually just like the show I'd be terrified to go there!

From what I've seen the whole city of Portland reminds me of one small area of Louisville called the Highlands, a place where I happen to spend a huge majority of my time. Very eclectic and odd and young with lots of food and beer and coffee shops. They even picked up the "keep Louisville weird" logo. One day I will visit Portland! I wish it could be sooner rather than later but who knows.
