Today I said goodbye to every agility ribbon I've ever gotten. I packed them in a box and shipped them off to this awesome organization. . They were only taking up space. With electronic record keeping and videos of all my runs, ribbons just don't have a whole lot of meaning for me anymore.

I also donated a huge amount of clothing (oh how I love clothes!) and recycled a ton of papers I was holding onto from high school.

Yep, it feels good, but it is a process. I had to look at every single ribbon and piece of clothing and EVERY piece of paper before decided whether to keep it or not. It really isn't about mindlessly throwing things out like I thought it would be, its about letting things go one by one. It is definitely a tiring process.

It is a hard process. Now imagine if you had to do this for family members who have died. It's really hard to let their stuff go :-(

What was the organization you sent your ribbons to?

I can't even imagine how hard that would be :(

Thanks for the idea, I have a few that just need to be repurposed.

That seems like a wonderful organization. I am inspired by what you are doing - I shall join you! And yes, doing it for someone who has died is often brutal and difficult. Now doing it with someone who hoarded, that is soooo hard. I appreciate the whole idea of purging STUFF - I have a lot and it's really ridiculous. Thanks for the ideas and reminder and good luck with the process.
