This certainly isn't everything I've been up to here, but I have been spending an absurd amount of time in the printmaking studio lately. It is definitely my most time consuming class. Lately we've been working with zinc plates, such a meticulous (and dangerous!) process.

I don't usually like to share any of artsy stuff with people, but since I don't have any cute dog pictures as of late I might as well. I have a LOT of these but I'll refrain from showing them all.

This is a hardground line etching. Yes it is a monster about to eat a child reading a book. DSC_0002

This is a softground etching which allows you to press textures into the plate. I did a lot of these. I was going to do something a bit more complex but I just loved the detail I could get out of leaves and other natural sources. Every single little vein is etching in. Very cool in my opinion.

How do they get scaled up? That has always stumped me.

I really love the detail you got from the leaf

Thanks! Nothing got scaled up in these. The leaf print is the same size as the leaf I used for it.

Thanks Tammy! Perhaps I will in the future. It just seems so foreign to share that part of me with anyone really.
