Silvia's latest blog about goals really hits home for me. Of course, most of the things she writes are like that for me. She's just awesome.

Goal setting has definitely been a vogue agility topic for a few years now. I've tried, I really have, but I've never been a goals type of person. I do like to have a general direction that I'm moving, and sometimes it is necessary to have more specific goals (like Qing for a National) because you have to do things (like enter shows) to make them happen. But when it comes to actually running agility, I know I do my best when my only "goal" is to go out there and run my dog. In any case, we really don't have any goals right now. The only thing I really focus on for any given run is, well, running. Fast. I like to run fast. Panic and I got one lone Q at the DCAA show this past weekend, but figuring out 20" with Panic's new speed along with MY new speed having been back at hard XC training the past few weeks gave us some timing issues. But running him is SO FUN. I can't expect anything more out of either one of us right now. We both gave it our all, but our all just happens to be quite rusty.

Ironically, our only Q was on a course I didn't walk. I had no idea where the jumps where in space so I was definitely a bit more cautious here, which probably factored into the Q quite a bit.

But THIS was my favorite run of the weekend because I really ran my ass off.

In other news, I just got a new camera. Well, a "new" old camera. It's a Nikon F4 35mm camera. It's awesome and extremely complicated and extremely heavy. Oh it is beautiful. Can't wait to use it.

Along those lines, in a move that probably won't shock anyone, I've decided to change my major. When I had this realization over the summer it was quite the "duh" moment. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it earlier--it seems so obvious. I mean, duh! This is what I'm supposed to be doing! I'm officially an ART major!

Silvia is awesome - and you and Panic both seem to really like 20 inches! You east coast people and all your fancy indoor turf agility. Why don't we have anything like that on the west coast?

I have no idea--all we run on is turf nowadays. I would MUCH prefer dirt.

Oops, I thought you had already decided after the photography class last year! Sounds like the art major is perfect for you. 35 mm on film? I used to know how to develop pictures.

Love the 20 inch sprint, both of you were having a great time.

You would think I would have figured that out at that point!

Your running was excellent!! I love running too! It's the best. Release the running! Plus the collective sigh for the missed jump was gorgeous. I like these people whoever they are.

Go enormous Panic!

I think there is an art project in a little studio apartment in a farm in Oregon that must be done.
