YAY!! WHOOHOO!!!!!
Jul. 29th, 2009 06:27 pmI had suspected for a long time that Panic had hip dysplasia, and last week he started showing tell tale signs; limping on one rear leg and getting up slowly from a down. After putting it off and putting it off for fear of the results, I took him in today for x-rays. I really truly expected the worst, and was sure that our agility career would be cut short. I nearly cried as they were prepping him for the x-rays but luckily I held myself together.
I was ECSTATIC when the doctor put the x-rays up on the board. From my totally expansive knowledge on dog hips (AKA looking at pictures on the internet) I could see that his hips weren't bad! He told me Panic wasn't dysplastic, the only issue seemed to be that on his left hip, the little ball joint thingy didn't go as far into the socket as it should. I'm going to put him on a glucosimine supplement after I do some research, and it shouldn't cause too many problems if I keep him active and healthy. I haven't been this excited about anything in quite awhile, I'm so happy! :D
