Developing Handling Skils
Jan. 19th, 2011 07:31 pmI got Developing Handling Skills a couple of days ago. Awesome book, fun to look at and it will definitely be a great reference guide. You can tell that a ton of work went into that book and I totally appreciate immense amount of thought that went into it so people like me can learn these concepts so easily.
Oh but don't be afraid, it doesn't have the word "system" in it, see: just Developing Handling Skills. So even if you aren't a "system" person or hate systems or whatever, I would still recommend this book. It's all about better communicating with your dog on course, and I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want that. It isn't at all formulaic, and there's no you must do this or that, it just presents skills and concepts that would allow you to run any course a countless number of ways.
Again, big thanks to Linda Mecklenburg for putting so much time and effort into such a project. And if you haven't picked up a copy of Developing Handling Skills yet, you should.
