If some part of your body hurts for a long time (ex: your shins) don't ignore it and do stupid things (ex: participate in strenuous track meets and race at meets).

So I have a stress fracture in my shin. This ends my track season and means that I can't run for about six weeks. Running is quite a significant part of my life so this really sucks, but it isn't as bad as it could be.If I had ignored it, the doctor said, I could have ended up like Kevin Ware. Yikes. (On a side note, go Louisville!)

Incidentally though it means that even if I had entered World Team Tryouts, I wouldn't have been able to run. There goes the universe working things out again.

Anyway if I play my cards right and don't do more stupid things I should be set to go for Panic's 20" debut at the end of May. I'm very very excited about this. I think 26" was a good height for Panic initially. He jumped well at it and it made him think about jumping instead of plowing through the jumps. Now that's he's a little older and we don't get to train as much I think 20" will be a good choice for him. I could see at the shows we did since I've been at school that he doesn't look as comfortable at that height anymore. After Nationals I ran him at 20" in practice and it felt very comfortable, albeit slightly out of control. If we do more USDAA I may keep him at 26" a bit longer instead of putting him in performance, but I really don't like the idea of him having to switch heights so dramatically--which is why I initially began jumping him at 26" in AKC anyway.
