This past week I came home for the summer after completing my first full year at the College of Wooster. I can't believe that a year ago I was so confused about my life and now I'm...well just as confused or maybe more, but very happy about that fact. I learned a lot this year, but I would say the most important thing I learned was that I just can't do everything--but I'm going to try to anyway. It's more fun.
The week after finals ended I had the opportunity to go to Cape Cod. It was the first time I've been on a vacation without a dog since I was about 12. I had never been there, it was absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. I haven't seen the ocean in over ten years and I forgot how profoundly huge it is. I could have sat and watched it for hours. One day we hiked through the woods and came out on top of sand dunes overlooking the Atlantic. Beautiful.

I'm looking forward to the summer even though it won't be particularly thrilling. Lots of working but hopefully a lot of fun too. Panic and I have a show in two weekends, his 20" debut. We practiced a bit at 20" this weekend and I really like how he looks. I don't think it was a good height for him in the past, but I could see that 26" was becoming much more of an effort for him, especially since we don't get to train regularly. It should be a blast, if a little crazy. The only thing I'm concerned about is my ability to run. Thursday was the first day I could start running again after my stress fracture, and I'm currently stuck doing short intervals of walking/jogging. Hopefully I'll have built up to more running by the show, but it is a slow process for a reason. I certainly don't want to be set back.
