The Right Time

So I've been waiting for the "right time" to get a puppy. I don't feel like the "right time" is right now, I feel like the "right time" will be whenever I move out and am a stable college student. But when is that going to happen? How will I know THAT will be the right time anyway? Is there EVER a "right time"?

Instead I'm thinking of finding the type of dog a want, the breeder I want a dog from, and then just wait for the right puppy, whenever he or she may come into existence. I think it is highly unlikely that the "right time" and the "right puppy" will exist at the same time anyway, but only that the right puppy will MAKE it the right time for a puppy. I feel like I am making this a lot more complicated than necessary.

Sameeee. I'm still trying to find when the "right" time will be.

So I think I've come to the conclusion that that does not exist.

You don't get the dog you want, you get the dog you need. Makes sense to me. I keep asking myself that when my puppy drags me down a hill to sniff a leaf.

Agree with Katie about getting the puppy you need. Not really sure I was ready for Hustle, or honestly, that I even wanted him. But I sure did need him. And now I look into that big goofy boy face and he absolutely melts me. And he is my little appendage. Kinda like an appendix, maybe just a vestigal organ ;) But damn him, he's cute, and loveable, and always, always makes me smile. And now I am having fun working him!

I love Hustle, even when he is launching himself at my face. He was definitely just what you needed!

That is what I am hoping for. I'm hoping MY dog will just show up one day, regardless of when that day is, and I'll know it. In reality I should know that. Just because I'm getting a puppy should not make it much different. The moment I laid eyes on Panic('s crappy petfinder picture) I knew he was my dog, even though it was a horrible time for me to get another dog.

Ha! This sounds familiar. I'm not allowed to look at petfinder anymore :)

I remember that picture! It WAS horrible, and he looked like a huge BC mix to me. What a man he turned out to be!

I know, I have no idea why I was so drawn to him just from that! There was just something about him!

What's a "stable college student" and how can I become one? ;)

lol

...I have no idea. It just sounded like a logical and "responsible" thing to think! Haha!

That is the way it has always worked for me. The right puppy found me, and I made the right time happen. Now, I have a household filled with 2 BCs, a pugaranian, and 1-2 fosters at any given time...
